Next Thursday, July 12th our own CEO and founding partner Lorraine D’Alessio will be a featured speaker on Women, Wine & Wisdom’s “Leading the Way” panel. Throughout the night some of Los Angeles’ most influential women will be discussing their roles as female leaders and their own pathways within their respective fields and careers. Already inspired by these incredible panelists, we were curious about how they got to where they are today. Get familiarized with the other incredible panelists on next week’s “Leading the Way” event, including What’s Trending’s Shira Lazar and Ambitious Women’s Stacey Bean!
Canadian powerhouse Shira Lazar is known as the Co-Founder and CEO of the weekly, live, interactive television show “What’s Trending.” The show, which premiered in 2011, consists of two celebrity panelists discussing currently trending news and covering the most viral and shareable content across the social web. The idea behind the show was to create a place for what’s trending on the Internet and in pop culture.
Lazar has been sharpening her media skills since her career took off back in 2004 when she hosted the College Sports Television program “1st Person.” In 2006, she joined HLN as a West Coast contributor for “The Daily Share” covering social media and digital trends for the network. Later that year, Shira contributed feature pieces to Hollywood.com, and wrote an Academy Awards preview feature for Los Angeles Confidential. Prior to What’s Trending, Shira also launched the talk show Partner’s Project on YouTube, where she was interviewing some of the biggest YouTube stars.
Not only is Shira a savvy media guru, constantly challenging the industry to move forward, and a pioneer for women in the field, but she is also a fearless tech queen who has been featured in numerous magazines, including Fast Company magazine as one of the “Most Influential Women in Technology” as well as in The Huffington Post’s “Women in Tech” series as “Women in Tech You Need to Follow.”
Ambitious Women founder, Stacey Bean, is one of a kind. Growing up, Stacey wasn’t really sure about what direction she wanted to go or what her dreams were. It took her a while to figure out what she was actually passionate about, but when she did, her passion turned into something inspiring and meaningful.
Working for other companies her entire career, Stacey started realizing she wanted to do something for women as a whole. Driven by the ability to change someone’s perspective and empower other women, she felt the urge to make an impact on other women’s lives. As a digital marketing and advertising professional with more than 18 years of experience creating and executing business development, Stacey founded Ambitious Women – a non-profit dedicated to empowering future female leaders, providing mentorships to young women and advocating for gender equality.
Through Ambitious Women, Stacey is now able to encourage female leaders as well as educate the community on the way towards female equality.
